The only holes you drill are through the trim strip not the actual bike itself. The Air Wings w/ Lowers adjust seperately allowing you to direct radiator heat away in the hot weather and bring the wind on to upper body of rider and co-rider. In cold weather shut the air wings and open the lower bringing the engine heat onto the riders knees and legs keeping you warmer. Our Air Wings do not bring in radiation heat in hot weather as others do. Just leave the lower panel closed to deflect the heat away. In the cold weather open the lower panel to bring the heat onto legs and knees. These are also available in Acrylic plastics with other colors such as blue, red, and Smoke. Outstanding performance. Both the air wings and the lowers are designed for easy variable opening settings while riding. Air Wings: The air wings can be positioned for variable draftread mores of air to the driver's and passenger's upper body simultaneously. Both driver and passenger cannot experience maximum draft simultaneously, but a nice compromise can be had. Operated in conjunction with the hand wings (which provide significant air flow to the driver but do little for the passenger) both the driver and passenger can enjoy significant air flow. In the closed position, the air wings reduce the level of wind striking the driver (primarily) and the passenger (lesser effect). Lowers: Although designed to direct radiator heat to the knees and lower legs in winter (open position), I have found them most effective for diverting radiator heat away from the knees and lower legs in summer (closed position). Recommend install both the Hand Wings and the Air Wings for maximum benefit, but if I had to choose, I would go with the Hand Wings first as the best value for the dollar. Opened, they provide good air flow to the driver during summer. Closed, they block virtually all wind from the driver's hands during winter.Click to review this product
